Registration Fees and Payment Policies – please read carefully before registering:

  • Non-refundable school registration fee:

    • $50 for schools that register by 5:00 PM on October 5

    • $65 for schools registering October 5 5:01 PM – October 23 5:00 PM

    • $75 for schools registering October 23 5:01 PM - October 31

  • The school registration fee: The fee is the same regardless of how many delegates your school registers and how many students end up attending the conference once the registration deadline has passed. For your convenience, we do not require that you pay this registration fee upfront when you register; you may bring all payment with you the day of the event. Please note if more than 3 delegates from the same school are not allowed to register individually, meaning the school fee will not be waived. While unlikely, if this occurs we will contact you shortly. Both school delegations and Individual delegates must have an adult chaperone.

  • Cancellation policy: Please note that if your school cancels after October 31, you will be billed 40% of your latest total registration fee and delegate fees to cover the costs associated with staffing and processing registration.

  • Schools on the waiting list who are not able to attend the conference will not be billed the registration fee.

  • Student registration fees and instructions:

    • $20 per student- This fee covers the cost of lunch and accommodations at Westlake Academy.

  • Lunches:

    • Lunch will be on-site at our cafeteria, which offers vegetarian options. No on-site lunch purchasing will be available through the conference. However, delegates are welcome to bring their own lunches and snacks as well.

  • Changing numbers, final invoices, and payment information:

    • The deadline to request decreases or increases in delegate numbers is October 31 at 5:00 PM. Please use the original registration form link on our website to submit changes, and check the box for updated registration.

    • Your final invoice will be prepared based upon these numbers, and given that meals and materials are pre-ordered and pre-paid by Westlake Academy, no reduction in the invoice amount can be made for students or extra chaperones who do not attend.

    • Payment is due in full on or before the date of the conference. Checks should be made payable to: Westlake Academy Model UN. Should you wish to submit payment in advance, the mailing address will be provided on the invoice and on the website. We are unable to accept credit card payments.

    • If you submit a decrease in delegate numbers, you must notify us what position is vacant so we may offer it to another at: maryam.naseer@wa-students.org

  • Registration submission policies

    • Advisor or adult approval required to submit the application AND advisor or adult chaperone point of contact: The application should be submitted by the school advisor or another adult chaperone; this individual must also be the contact person for the application as well as any follow-up emails sent by the conference.  We cannot accept registrations submitted by students, nor can we accept changes submitted by students. To help facilitate efficient communication, we ask that advisors submit questions on behalf of their students.

    • Individual delegates or non-affiliated delegates: We welcome individual delegates who are not part of an official school team. However, we request that you provide a letter from your school principal or other administrators (if your school has no MUN team) or a note from your MUN advisor (if your school has a MUN team) giving their consent for you to participate. These letters should be sent to: maryam.naseer@wa-students.org. Home-schooled students are exempt from this support letter and instead are requested to bring a letter of consent from a parent or guardian. The school fee will be prorated for your delegation, should it be less than the minimum team size of 3 delegates, and you will be charged the regular student fee per delegate.

  • Adult chaperones: All minors visiting campus must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. We will provide a complimentary break room and work space for chaperones attending the conference, visit the Advisor's Page for more information.
